Busy as a Bee

As you can imagine, life gets pretty hectic here with my three boys. Most of the time I plan a lot of activities, but realistically things never go as planned. This past weekend we spent a lot of time together, mostly driving but none the less spending time talking to each other. It's pretty amazing what the boys end up talking about, even though they're all talking at the same time and I'm supposed to somehow understand and answer them as well.

Saturday, we headed about an hour south and celebrated the upcoming births of three little boys this summer. It was pretty great being held at the park because the boys got to hang out at a park different from their own. They mostly played with each other but loved being out. The weather was just perfect with a slight overcast, nothing like the weather we've been having here in So. Cal and it's sweltering heat. But hey! That's California for you.

Sunday, we loaded up yet again and headed south to Disneyland, but it wasn't to tire ourselves out stressing over which ride to go on. Nope. This time (like usual) the mommies and kids went and we were able to take our time eating, talking, walking, and waiting. Sometimes I think the hubbies have a harder time waiting in those long lines than the kids. LOL!

We ate at Naples in Downtown Disney and hung out for a little while, headed over to California Disney and waited a couple of hours for Toy Story Mania and by the time we got on it all the adults were just over it and by the look of our children's faces so were they. Before heading home we had one FINAL stop to go to - Boiling Crab. I love this place, being able to just get messy while eating shellfish is a parent and child's dinner time dream. Though the wait to be seated was long, the company made up for it.

Overall, it was a pretty great weekend with nothing to complain about except for the usual traffic and wait times for everything that we wanted to do. But it was worth it. HA!

Today, we were supposed to go to La Brea Tarpits and the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, but with all the walking and driving I did over the weekend and the fact that my legs were just about to fall off and my back was pleading with me to give it a break, I opted to stay local and home. We met up with my best friend and her sister at an all you can eat seafood buffet about 30 minutes from where I live for lunch and enjoyed an early afternoon chatting it up. I know! I know! We eat a whole lot of seafood - but hello! We are Pacific Islanders, shelling shrimp and cracking open crabs is one of the many attributes we have. Yeah. Don't be jealous! LOL! Daniel was a saint with his little friend and Matthew was so good playing with his Star Wars action figures while eating. I have to say baby wipes, hand sanitizers, and small age appropriate toys are key when eating out with young children - especially at a buffet if you want to eat. We all ate so much, but didn't want to leave. The possibilities were endless there, but I'm a glutton by sight only, I usually don't end up eating everything I want because I lose patience, haha.

We ended the day coming home and relaxing, the boys played and I cleaned. Just like every other typical day here at this house. Nothing new and exciting. But the little things make for the memories that we'll have to look back on in the future.

Hope you had an amazing day as well.
