Getting Kinect'd and Imaginary Workouts

New Year's Eve celebrations didn't end for us till about 3 a.m. when we finally got home, settled the boys into bed, and found our comfy nooks between the sheets. It wasn't too long before J woke me up early in the morning with eyes so bright I thought it was Christmas morning all over again...

"Babe! You'll never guess what I have downstairs!"

Still half asleep, definitely dazed and confused, the only words that I could mutter out at that point was, "whaaaaaaa??? Huh????"

He quickly explained to me that he purchased the Kinect system. After seeing how much fun our boys were having at the NYE at my cousin's house we talked about maybe getting it soon. I didn't think we were going to get it first thing in the morning - or maybe I misunderstood again?

As tired as I was - 'cause you know SAHMs party like rockstars and finish off their nights with shots of Nyquil - I turned over and said, "that's great!" And boy was it great. While I slept off the OTC hangover till a little pass noon, J and the boys were downstairs tearing up the brand new wood floors with their sport skills.

Later in the afternoon our dear friends came over with their uber cute son. It was an impromptu New Year's Day gathering. And soon after my really good GF came over, just in time for some Dance Central Kinect fun.

As emberassing as it was to "dance" in front of our friends it turned out to be way more fun at the end. Not to mention a great work out.

Which brings me to the second part of this post... WORKING OUT! While I was dancing in front of the TV, probably burning more calories laughing at myself than actually dancing, I couldn't help but think about what I looked like. Kind of like when you're in your Group Aerobics class, you swear your doing the steps right until you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and realize that everyone is facing the back of the room while you're still staring at yourself in the mirror in the front of the class. HA!

After everyone left, I had planned on heading tot he gym - PLANNED ON HITTING THE GYM!! But ended up paying the price of gluttony in my bathroom for eating all the stuffed crust pizzas I had today. I think I'm officially lactose intolerant. My disgusting affair that I have with cheese in excess has now found it's demise. I don't think I can stomach that much cheese anymore, just as well since there's like a bazillion calories and fat that can only be shedded if I lived on the Stairmaster. Ah! Moderation is key I suppose. But that's a department I'm not good at, haha!

So, yes... planning. I'm all set on heading the gym. I've got my gym clothes and shoes ready to go and my iPhone is packed with tracks to keep me motivated throughout two hours of hard workouts. I am SO ready to work out! In fact, I'm so ready and pumped that I listen to my tracks while I FB and update on Twitter and imagine the enthusiasm I'll have when I'm trekking up those stairs and run uphill on the treadmill. I imagine how motivated I'll be and how the results will be so pleasing. And by the time I actually roll my ass out of bed to get ready to be make this imagination into reality, I lose it. But in my imaginary workout... I kicked ass!!

Okay... Okay... So I'm not getting a good headstart ont his workout regimen, BUT I did plan on Sunday night so I've had two days to waste away... Remember, I only blame myself if I don't reach my weekly goals!
